Shipping Information
We are committed to getting your new sofa bed to you safely, on time, and with as little hassle as possible. Below you'll find everything you need to know about how we ship, what to expect, and what it costs.
Please note: when delivery is to an address different from the billing address, we require ID verification prior to and at delivery.
Sofa Bed Delivery
We offer two delivery options for sofa beds depending on your location: White Glove Delivery and Freight Delivery. Your available options and pricing will appear automatically at checkout based on your postal code.
White Glove Delivery
White Glove Delivery is our premium delivery service. Our trained delivery partners will bring your sofa bed to the room of your choice, fully assemble it, and remove all boxes and packaging. You don't lift a finger.
White Glove Delivery is available across Ontario and Quebec. Pricing is based on your distance from our showrooms:
- Free — Toronto core and surrounding GTA (within ~40km of our Toronto showroom)
- Free — Ottawa, Gatineau, Chelsea, Wakefield and surrounding area (within ~20km of our Ottawa showroom)
- $75 — Greater Toronto Area surrounding and Ottawa Valley surrounding
- $150 — Central Ontario and Montreal area
- $200 — Southwest Ontario
Your exact White Glove rate will be calculated automatically at checkout. If White Glove Delivery is not shown as an option for your area but you'd like this service, please contact us — we'll do our best to find a solution.
Freight Delivery
Freight Delivery is available for most of Canada. Your sofa bed is lovingly wrapped and carefully secured flat-packed on a pallet to protect it during transit. This is a curbside service — your delivery will be brought to your door, but assembly and unpacking are your responsibility. Everything you need for assembly is included, and we're always here to help if you have questions.
Freight delivery pricing:
- $50 — GTA surrounding and Ottawa Valley surrounding
- $100 — Central Ontario and Montreal area
- $150 — Southwest Ontario
- $200 — Northern Ontario, rest of Quebec, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan
- $275 — Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island
The freight carrier will contact you to schedule a delivery window once your shipment arrives at your local terminal. Most freight carriers deliver on weekdays during standard business hours (9am–5pm).
Important: If you are unable to accept delivery within the timeframe provided by the freight carrier, storage fees may apply (typically ~$40/day). To avoid this, please communicate any scheduling difficulties before your order ships. Once it leaves our warehouse, we have no control over freight timelines and cannot be held responsible for storage fees. We are happy to hold your order in our Ottawa warehouse until you are ready — just let us know in advance.
Rugs
All rugs ship free across Canada. Delivery is curbside.
Accessories
Headrests, mattress toppers, ottomans, and other accessories are subject to a $30 flat shipping fee for home delivery across Canada. Free in-store pickup is available at both our Toronto and Ottawa showrooms.
Floor Models
Floor model sofa beds are eligible for free White Glove Delivery within the zone of the store they are purchased from. Toronto floor models can only be delivered within the Toronto delivery zone; Ottawa floor models within the Ottawa delivery zone. Floor models of non-sofa bed items (e.g. story time chairs) are not included in free delivery and can typically be disassembled to fit in most vehicles.
Shipping Times
IN STOCK — READY TO DELIVER: Orders ship from our Ottawa warehouse as quickly as possible. Ottawa area deliveries are typically completed within 1 week. Toronto area deliveries are typically within 1–2 weeks — we send a truck to our Toronto delivery partners weekly. For all other White Glove zones, your local delivery partner will contact you to schedule an appointment. Freight deliveries outside our local zones leave our warehouse within 3–5 business days, with transit times of 1–2 weeks depending on your location.
SHIPS IN 4 WEEKS: Your order will arrive at our Ottawa warehouse in approximately 4 weeks and will ship to you from there.
MADE TO ORDER — SHIPS IN 20 WEEKS: Special orders are handcrafted in Ukraine and shipped to our Ottawa warehouse in approximately 20 weeks. We will ship to you once it arrives.

Not ready for delivery yet? No problem. Place your order to secure your sofa bed and we'll hold it in our warehouse until you're ready.
Assembly
Freight-delivered sofa beds arrive flat-packed, wrapped, and boxed in 1–7 boxes depending on the model. This makes it easy to navigate stairs, elevators, and tight corners. Assembly is straightforward and everything you need is included. These sofa beds are designed to get into spaces traditional sofa beds never could — you'll love it.
Return Policy
We encourage all customers to review measurements carefully and reach out with any questions before ordering. We know our products inside and out and are happy to help you find the perfect fit for your space and lifestyle. If you have any questions, please email us before ordering.
If you are unhappy with your purchase, please email sales@thesofabedstore.com within 7 days of receiving your sofa bed to initiate a return. A $300 holdback fee applies to all sofa bed returns that require pickup.
White Glove delivery returns: Please ensure the sofa bed is in perfect condition. The same delivery team that assembled it will return to disassemble and repackage it. Once received back at our store in original condition, your refund will be processed less the $300 fee.
Freight delivery returns: The sofa bed must be disassembled and repackaged in its original packaging. We will coordinate return shipping and provide shipping documents. Once received and verified in new condition, your refund will be processed less the $300 fee.
Accessories: Accessories can be returned to either our Ottawa or Toronto showroom for a full refund, processed on the spot. Mattress toppers must be unused and in original packaging. If return shipping is required, contact us and we'll help find the best rates.
Original shipping and delivery fees are non-refundable.
